The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World are the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, Pharos of Alexandria, and the Temple of Zeus in Ephesus. Each of these structures is fascinating in its own way and a must-see for anyone traveling to ancient Greece and Egypt.

The Great Pyramid of Giza is considered one of the wonders of the ancient world and is still standing today after more than 4,500 years. It is the only wonder still in existence and stands as the tallest man-made structure in the world. Built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, the pyramid is made of more than two million blocks of stone.


The Colossus of Rhodes is one of the most famous sculptures in the world and is made of bronze. It is located on the island of Rhodes and was established by the Rhodesian Greeks in 280 BC, in honor of their patron god, Apollo. The statue is 21 meters high and has been called "the most beautiful statue in the world" and "the largest bronze statue in the world".


The Lighthouse of Alexandria was built in 280 BC by Ptolemy II as part of his efforts to improve navigation along the Mediterranean Sea. The lighthouse is located on the island of Faros and is still standing today. It is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in the world and is still in operation.


The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were built by Nebuchadnezzar II in 537 BC as a gift to his wife, Queen Jezebel. The gardens consist of more than 300 trees that are suspended by chains from the ground. The gardens no longer exist but have been recreated in various locations around the world.

It has been described as a remarkable achievement, and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, whose existence has been disputed among historians. These ancient wonders are the Colossus of Rhodes, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. The Great Pyramid of Giza

The Great Pyramid of Giza is the oldest monument in the list of Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It's also the only one left. The pyramid was built more than 4,000 years ago and is still standing today. The pyramid is made of stone and is about 455 feet high. The pyramid is one of the most famous and recognizable structures in the world.


Statue of Zeus in Olympia

The Statue of Zeus at Olympia in Greece is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.


Created in 430 BC under the king of the gods, Zeus, the statue is a chryselephantine, which means it is made of ivory and gold.


The statue stands on a rectangular plinth made of white marble and measures 17.5 feet in height and 10.5 feet in width.


The statue is currently on display at the Olympia Museum in Greece. If you are visiting Olympia, be sure to visit this amazing statue!


Temple of Artemis in Ephesus

If you're in the area, be sure to visit the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus. Located in Selcuk, Turkey, this site is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Completed in the Ionic order in the late fourth century BC, it was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing at the time of Christ. The ancient and Hellenistic monumental temple still stands today and is one of the most impressive structures in Turkey.


Mausoleum in Halicarnassus

The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus or the tomb of Mausolus was a tomb built between 353 and 350 BC in Sidon, and it was designated as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Located in what is now southeastern Turkey, the building is a combination of a palace and a tomb. The mausoleum consisted of several small rooms that were used for various purposes, such as the royal tomb, a storage area, and a chapel. The tomb was designed by architect Mausolus and is considered one of the most beautiful and well preserved ancient wonders.


Rhodes statue

The Colossus of Rhodes was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This colossal statue stands at the entrance to the city of Rhodes and was erected in the twelve years 292-280 BC. It is reported that the bronze statue was the highest statue in the ancient world. Today, photos of this wonderful statue can be found on many websites and in many books.


Lighthouse of Alexandria

The Lighthouse of Alexandria is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and is still impressive today. Its construction was completed in 332 BC, and it was one of the most important lighthouses of its time. It is located on an island in the Pharos River, and was used to direct ships to the port. The shrine is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and one of my favorite ancient wonders. This ancient wonder is located in the city of Halicarnassus in Turkey. The mausoleum of Halicarnassus was the oldest of the cAll the traditional ancient wonders besides the Great Pyramid.
